JAMMU, Nov 27: Proverb ' a rotten apple injures its companion' seem fit for administration of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), as Vice Chancellor who was selected for prestigious post in violation of norms, is all set to elevate his trustworthy 'lieutenant', tainted SO Legal as Assistant Registrar.
Sources told Early Times that the Section Officer Legal, who has been accused of having fake degree in LLB, and has close proximity with Vice Chancellor, Prof SK Jain is likely to get elevated to senior post.
"The VC is leaving no stone unturned for elevating the tainted SO as Assistant Registrar in the university, surprisingly in violation of UGC Regulations and University's own statutes", sources said, adding that it had established that LLB degree of SO is fake, the VC instead of taking action shielding the official due to unknown reasons.
They said that the VC, seeking approval in favour his man has also approached to Governor J&K, who is also Chancellor of the University. "Prof Jain in case of SO Legal, has requested upon the Chancellor that LLB Degree needs to be interpreted by the Governor, as post Graduate Degree as it is required after Graduation, so that he can be appointed as Assistant Registrar", sources claimed, adding that though Bar Council of India as well as UGC define and recognize LLM as Post Graduate Degree.
"Since VC is not appointing authority, Prof Jain is finding it difficult to adjust his (SO Legal) to senior post. Moreover, VC is having copy of fake LLB degree-1996 communicated with him endorsed with the complaint dated May 4, 2014, that he seems reluctant to put before the Executive Council Members who need to be apprised about misconduct", sources said.
They further said that inquiry ordered by Governor's secretariat is still lying unanswered in SMVDU.
"The inquiry stands ordered vide letter number GS-12(AR-Legal)SMVDU/14/2300 dated April 21, 2014, , but VC Prof SK Jain, as well as Ajay Khajuria re-employed in university as Registrar overlooked the same while granting extension on June 30, 2014 for another five years as SO Legal and no disciplinary action has been initiated against him", the sources wondered. |
