Jammu, Dec 30 (JNF): In a PIL highlighting the government inaction to deal with the situation caused by unprecedented floods in the state, especially in Jammu region, a high court division bench of Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur observed that the November 14, 2014 order has not been complied with. The PIL has been filed by advocates -- Ajay Bakshi and Tariq Rasool Wani. Their counsel argued that there are families who have not been approached by any one. Details of 30 families in CMA No 295/2014 were given, who did not either receive any relief or the relief given was very meager. The bench granted last opportunity to the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to comply with the November 14, 2014 directions by putting the whole data on the website and comply with other directions. The details be provided to the court so that necessary directions may be issued, if required. The needful shall be done a week before next date of hearing. The bench observed that if this order was not complied with, the divisional commissioner shall remain present in person to explain as to why he has failed to comply with the directions. |
