Lectures on Red Cross, Dental Hygiene organised | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 30: Sixth day of the ongoing Seven Days NSS special camp at Govindsar also witnessed a gala of informative lectures by resource persons of different professional expertise. The day long events started with a lecture by Ashish Singh, Executive Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Kathua on the role of Red Cross. He emphasized on the necessity of developing the spirit of true volunteerism to serve the nation. Second lecture was delivered by Dr. Tanvi Mahajan on Dental Hygiene. She emphasized on the need to maintain oral hygiene for stronger teeth and overall personal health. She also interacted with volunteers and villagers and cleared their doubts about oral health. She demonstrated the right technique of brushing teeth and importance of flossing for maintaining healthy teeth. Later during the day Dr. Tanvi performed a dental checkup on children from the village and volunteers. The sixth day activities were coordinated by the volunteers of 'Sovereignty' group. Volunteers' activities started with paying obeisance to Shri Peer Baba shrine within the school premises by NSS programme Officers Dr. Ram Singh, Dr. Rachna and Dr. Suraya Partap Singh along with guests of the day Ashish, Dr. Tanvi Gupta and Manuj Kesar and NSS Volunteers. This was followed by morning assembly followed by mass PT. |
