| Residents of Karndi Kalan stage protest against PHE deptt | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 11: Chagrined to Mal-functioning of Public Health Engineering Department for not providing sufficient water supply in village Karndi Kalan Tehsil Hiranagar repeatedly staged protest demonstration here outside the Office of X En PHE ( Mech.) and demanded regular water supply.
Yog Raj a prominent who led the protest alleged the PHE department of deliberately ignoring the suffering of people who belongs to minority and shepherd class.
He said the department provides single water tank to hundreds of villagers that is insufficient and not meet with the demand.
He added that the motor of tube well got out of order 10 days ago but could not be replaced by department. Raj informed that villagers submitted a memorandum to X En regarding renovation in water pipes and machinery installed in Tube wells but the action has yet to be taken. Other deputation from village Khurd Talab New Gujjar Basti near Barnoti also hold protest where Mullha Din said employees being deployed in the village deliberately neglect their duty and formulate several excuses to renovate affected works. While contacted to Mohmamad Taj, he said the department provided appropriate water facilities to the villagers but it may be insufficient due to increasing population. He ensured that the demand came into his notice and he would take favorable step to meet with the demand of the villagers. He said department has already ordered to concerned employees for renovation of damaged water pipes. |
