Visitors rue 'dictatorial' ways of Director School Education | | | K Koushal
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: Visitors and even staff members of the Directorate of School Education are concerned over alleged 'dictatorial' attitude of the incumbent DSE, who was recently posted to this new position. The new Director of School Education, an IAS officer, has directed that no person, including officials of the Education Department can visit the Directorate during the working hours. The notice outside the office of Director of School Education reads, "General Public/Staff of the School Education department is requested to come in the Directorate between 3 to 5 pm." Unaware of the problems being faced by the general public as well as officials of Education Department, the Director has strictly directed his personal staff, 'not to allow anyone inside'. "I am coming from Ramban to deliver official communication, but here the person at gate is not allowing me to deliver the same", rued an official of Education Department, adding that as per 'gate man' I will be allowed only after 3:00 pm as per official order. "If employees of the department are facing such harassment, what general public can expect from civil servants who are not foresight to understand problems faced by common people?" he questioned. Some of the officials however justifying the steps taken by the DSE complained that some attached teachers were camping in the directorate even during working hours of the office. They however agreed that there was need to streamline the receipt and dispatch so that officials of the department coming from other places do not have to wait to deliver the Dak. Director School Education, Simranjeet Singh when contacted said that he took this step for streamlining the working of the office. |
