Early Times Report

Srinagar, Apr 2: Accusing the administration of dancing to the tunes of some private cement industrialists, JK Cements employees Saturday alleged that private players with intensions to 'dominate' the market were toiling hard to close government run cement factory.
The employees alleged that the state government under a well planned conspiracy has pitted two truck unions with each other so that the factory which was 'rejuvenated' by its employees is closed.
"It is unfortunate that the administration is yet to take actions against the police officials who yesterday came to our sale depot and thrashed our employees. Police also stopped the supplies of JK Cements," Chairman, Save JK Cements Forum, Abdul Rashid Rigoo told 'Early Times'.
Taking a strong dig at the government for what he termed acting as a stooge in the hands of private players Rigoo said, "Government instead of adding colors to the nefarious designs of private players who wants to dominate the market should focus on JK Cements rejuvenation.
He claimed JK Cements was once a profitable factory that witnessed enormous losses for the past few years due to the wrong policies of the state government.
"Employees by forming save JK Cements Forum have succeeded to revitalize the factory that suggested some cost-effective measures to the government f or its evolution, however some tycoons who want to dominate the market could not digest its progress started conspiring for its closure," added Rigoo.
He claimed that the ongoing standoff between the truckers unions has adversely affected the sales of JK Cements and with the government seemingly undaunted over the losses being suffered by the factory.
"Police yesterday forcibly barged into the factory and stopped sales of cement, it is apparent that the government too wants to wind up JK Cements to provide benefits to private cement industrialists, we demand that no such step should be taken that brings the factory on the brink of end," he said.
He said that the salaries of the employees of JK Cements is withheld since three months and the government seems much interested in pull the plug on factory other than make it progressive," said Rigoo.
He said that employees due to the anti-employees policy of the government are living a distressed life who needs to be sympathized by taking harsh steps against 'Cement Mafia' which not only have plans to render hundreds of employees jobless.
