ET Report
Rajouri, June 22: Two top government officials have issued contradictory orders over the vacation of 30-kanal land at village Taryath in Rajouri district.
Sources told Early Times that a top IAS officer directed the tehsildar Taryath, to get a piece of land measuring nearly 30 kanals vacated from the illegal possession of two parties who had occupied the land.
After the order was issued one party in this case agreed to vacate the land while the other party held on to it and refused to relent.
Meanwhile, in the process the party that had agreed to leave the land called on the tehsildar and expressed their willingness to handover the possession. The tehsildar reportedly took his own time and gave false assurances to the party and asked them to wait.
However, the sources said that in the meantime, the tehsildar met the other party and advised them to get another order issued by some top official to stay the process of getting the land vacated. This party approached the official of the rank of Commissioner Secretary and by putting in a false plea got an order issued putting the process of vacating the land to halt.
At present both the IAS officers are locking horns over each other with one officer directing his subordinates to vacate the land while the other is using his influence and has directed the authorities to maintain the status-quo.
The order copies of both the officers one for vacating the land while other putting the process on hold are lying with Early Times.
