| Police, Army conduct CASO | | |

Rajouri, Mar 4: Rajouri police in collaboration with Special Operation Group (SOG) and Army today conducted 'cordon and search operations (CASOs)and in Khoriwali area near Rajouri town and at Khoriwali in Darhal tehsil.
A senior police officer said that after inputs of movement of anti-national elements, cordon and search operation was launched in Khoriwali area jointly by the Darhal police and local army unit.
He added that during operation several areas were searched but no one was apprehended.
"The entire suspected area was sanitised by the forces but without any result and the search operation was called off. Khoriwali area was dominated by the anti-national elements when the militancy was in peak in the district.
In an another such operation Rajouri police team in collaboration with special operation group (SOG) , headed by Additional SP and lead by Deputy SP , operations carried out search and destroy operation in Tandwal ,Thandikassi, Chawa villages and in their adjoining areas in the vicinity of Rajouri town on Jammu-Poonch highway.
Sources said that for the last few days Pakistan army has continuously been trying to push the trained terrorists into Indian territory by opening unprovoked heavy firing and mortar shelling on forward Indian posts in Manjakot, Ghambhir, Tarkundi Gal and Keri sectors in Rajouri district. |
