Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4: In a bizarre incident, a Revenue Official has filed a complaint before the Divisional Commissioner Jammu against his own senior for forging his signatures in a document of mutation of a piece of land.
Mohan Singh Patwari (Revenue official) in a written complaint addressed to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu informed that a fake mutation of a piece of for land falling under Khasra no. 1524 of village Sunjwan Jammu vide mutation no.750/J and 751/J had been affected under his forged signatures.
The Patwari in his complaint, a copy of which is available with ET, said that he came to know that the then senior Patwari Mohd Iqbal Zargar, now posted as Naib Tehsildar Bahu had made fake mutation abusing his name.
"Despite being under scanner, Zargar got prime posting to facilitate land grabbers", he alleged. "Mohd lqbal Zargar had been then working as Sr. Patwari in that circle. I was simply supposed to assist him in discharging official work in the circle under his guidance in Patwar halqa Sunjwan", said Mohan Singh and added that he performed the duties assigned by his senior.
He further said that the ownership rights were granted to land grabber by Zargar abusing his name and signatures. "Being a new entrant in service, I was not aware of the directives contained in Govt. order LB-6/c and S-432", he said.
He said that the above said mutations were not entered by him. "A cross check of record would establish that by my signatures, on the mutations have been forged to extend undue benefit to the 'beneficiary'", he said and added that the nature of land was also changed arbitrarily by nexus.
"State land 108 Kanals, Gair Mumkm Jaar, obviously not cultivable, was shown as warhal in the mutations registered wrongly, as such this land could not come under the purview of Govt order no LB-6/c or S-432", he claimed.
Meanwhile, sources in the Department informed that the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu had ordered an enquiry into the matter. "It has been established that fictitious entries on the name of the then Tehsildar Bahu and the Patwari were made, and the report has been sent to Divisional Commissioner", they added.
