Sino Indian relations - The Genesis
3/17/2018 10:25:34 PM

'Sino Indian Border Conflict' has got accelerated on account of 'DOKALA'. China published a map on the disputed 'Sikkim Territory' on 30th June, 2017. It has no similarity with the demands of either INDIA or BHUTAN. Showing this map China has claimed that Indian forces have intruded their area.
Both the forces look upon the other doubtfully. Still it is true that none has fired a single shot during the last 55 years (Except 'NATHULA PASS CONFLICT' in Sikkim, 1967).
Earlier such crisis would attract people in one way but now the format is different.
The Dokalam Plateau is situated at the border of India, China and Bhutan. It is complained that India is constructing road intruding Bhutan. When India protested strongly and asked China to stop China demanded that Indian Army intruded their territory. And there will be no talks until Indian Forces are withdrawn from 'DOKALAM'.
India points out that an agreement was made in 2012 with China with the consent of all parties to finalize the Border in Dokalam Area. No party can take unilateral decision in a 'Tripartite Border Area'. But China says that 'Dokalam' in their territory since ancient times. Moreover it is in the Sikkim. Tibet treaty with England. Under the circumstances India reacted in a controlled way against stiff warning of China. India also in favour of changing the 'Status Quo'.
China has stopped pilgrimage through 'NATHU LA' for the first time after it has begun.
Ball is now in India's court. They are to decide what they will do.
In fact Narendra Modi being Prime Minister started romantic talks with Chinese President Shi Zing Ping on the bank of the 'Sabarmati'. Now it is dead. Now Modi tries to remake his 'China Policy', India argues after the 'CULTURAL REVOLUTION' Chinese policy under 'TENG ZIAO SHING' since the 70s' is to spread influence in SOUTH EAST ASIA and even in SOUTH ASIA. He thought that after economic prosperity time had come to expand.
In 2014 when China crossed the Border Modi and Zing Ping settled the dispute in 'BI LATERAL TALKS' in New Delhi. But situation was critical this time as the Chinese Forces tried to capture 'Indian Territory' very slowly.
After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister Indian Media Personnel who visited 'Beijing' and 'Shanghai' clearly understood that China had apprehension about 'U.S.A.-INDIA AXIS', which had recently developed. China really wanted that India should go away from U.S.A. friendship and become a real friend of China. Actually China wants to be the leader and India may be her partner. But 'Indian Foreign Policy' wants equidistance from both 'U.S.A. and CHIANA' and to keep good relation with both.
India has been resorting to diplomatic efforts. India has been directly opposing 'Chinese Stand' to support 'Pak Sponsored Terrorism'. India opposes 'Chinese Stand'. China never reacted strongly. But what happened now that China behaves in way?
One reason is 'DALAI LAMA EPISODE'. China tailed to stop Dalai Lama's visit to 'TAWANG' in Arunachal Pradesh. India took necessary action to make the visit a success in spite of 'Chinese Opposition'. Second reason is that India objected and opposed Chinese attempt to construct a road from Pak Occupied Kashmir (P.O.K.) to 'Gwadar Port' of Balochistan through Gilgit. It could be a 'China-Pakistan Economic Corridor' running from Khokhar in West of Aksaichin through P.O.K. SUNJERAL, GILGIT, BALOCHISTAN, RAIRBT and GWADAR of SINDH in Pakistan. The Third cause is Chinese President Zing's dream project 'BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE' for which China is promise bonded to spend 50 Billion dollars in next Ten years. But India has not joined in it. So China did not waste time to make 'DOKALAM' an issue.
If this unguarded area between 'SIKKIM' and 'BHUTAN' is occupied the aerial distance between Chinese position and Foot soling will be 30 k.m. Besides the chicken neck corridor of West Bengal which is the only connection of North East India with the rest of India would come directly under the surveillance of Chinese Forces. 'Doklam' will make Bhutan understand that China not India is their protectors.
From her stand on 'Dokalam' , China has raised three questions : First, China has challenged Sikkim's accession to India by stopping Pilgrimage to ' Kailash Mansarovar Yatra' through 'Nathula Pass'. Secondly in 2003 it was decided the 'Border Problem' would be settled by representatives of the two countries through discussion. 'Doklam' was such a thing. But Chinese action raised the question of existence of diplomatic mechanism. The Third most serious question centers round the special relation between 'Bhutan' and 'India'. If India has to retreat from 'Doklam' as per Chinese demand can India keep her in flounce in South Asia?
Now the question arises why China is so 'War Mongering'. The transformation of China from 'Teng Ziao Ping' to 'Shi zing Ping' is note worthy. Teng's capitalism has became Himalayan during Shi. Being so powerful economically China is now coming out of economic shell and proceeding towards foundation of geographical imperialism. Today China is ready not to show respect to any force in South China Sea. China is today ignoring even 'America'. China ignored U.S.A. on 'SYRIA ISSUE' to create pressure on 'Russia' and did attend 'Security Council Session'. Why should China put emphasis on 'Naval Exercises Malabar 2017'? Even 'North Korea' shows her strength on the backing of China.
Later Vajpayee's General, the then National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra continued his border talks till the end. On the other side 'Trade and Commerce' had been going on side by side with diplomatic talks.
At present Modi Government is trying to change the fear psychosis of India about China and hence the 'War-Cry'. Silent diplomatic ways have difficulties but that is the 'Right Path'. China took 'Stern Stand' on a 'Small Part of Land' in BHUTAN and this led us to All Party meetings. It is to be remembered that none from Brajesh Mishra to M.K.Narayana, gave Chinese Company permission to build infrastructure in 'SEA PORT'.
Of course one thing to remember in this context 'LOVE HIMALAYA' of CHINA is her the crisis of water. The Himalayas are the center of 'INDIAN CIVILIZATION'. It has made India full of 'Forest and Food Grains' and made the 'Indian Civilization' riverine. To control 'SOUTH EAST ASIA', the Himalayas are the keypiont. At present China has not the 'Naval Power' to control the SOUTH SEA. She protests Vietnam's effort to collect 'OIL' from 'South Sea'. Indian Navel Ships are always visiting Vietnamese Port to control the situation.
Of course the Geographical and Historical point of view the Himalayas are more akin to 'INDIA' then to 'CHINA'. Indian planes are gift of the Himalayas. So to control 'INDIA', control of the 'HIMALAYAS' are necessary. For this reason China is working hard on tricks regarding 'Brahmaputra River'.
Actually water is very dear to China. It has only '2300 Cubic Meter Water' per head which is 1/4th of 'WORLD STANDARD'. 80% of Chinese Cities suffer from 'Scarcity of Water'.
All these reasons 'Chinese Eyes' have fallen to 'INDO-BHUTAN BORDER'. China is trying hard to influence 'THIMPHU' and 'KATHMANDU' for open a 'HIGH COMMISSION OFFICE' will there. She was not at all satisfied with 'SIKKIM ACCESSION' to 'INDIA'. China is built a 'Connecting Road' with Pakistan illegally at P.O.K. (Pak Occupied Kashmir).
And above all there is the forecast 'WATER' will bring about the '3rd WORLD WAR'.
Like Shi Zing Ping, Narendra Modi is also 'Nationalist'. Both went a settlement. And Mr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Foreign Secretary of India has taken the 'Right Measure' after Diplomatic Talks.
