Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 17: The residents of Nowshera today launched a protest rally towards Jammu to gherao secretariat, but were thwarted by the district administration and police. According to reports, on 31st day of strike, the residents of Nowshera launched protest rally towards Jammu, but were stopped by the district administration.
"Two times government representatives approached us and promised that issue will be resolved soon, but till date nothing substantive has been done," said protesters, adding that the government is hoodwinking with the people of Nowshera. Reports further said that district administration headed by Deputy Commissioner-Dr Shahid Iqbal along with police stopped the rally near Lamberi High Secondary School and conducted meeting with the representatives. During meeting, DC assured the protesters that on Monday Assistant District Development Commissioner shall be provided to the Nowhsera. "DC said that the order with regard to ADDC is ready but has to be signed by the Chief Minister and by Monday, he will provide orders," said protesters, adding that though they have dispersed but if it proved another bluff, they will launch massive protest in Jammu.
