Rally against illegal dumping of garbage by JMC

Jammu, Mar 17: Hundreds of people gathered at Kanger More Bhalwal & protested against illegal dumping of hazardous garbage by Jammu Municipality. Large number of people started a rally from Kanger More to Bantalab and sent back vehicles of Municipality loaded with hazardous waste which is illegally being thrown at Bhalwal near Degree college Mishri wala. Residents living in surrounding villages near illegal garbage dumping site are protesting From more than one month but government is not paying any heed to their genuine demand. Poor people are protesting for their fundamental rights against dumping of garbage in violation of air pollution rules of pollution control board.
Public is fighting for their fundamental right to live in a pollution free area. Hundreds of poor ladies, students and general public is on road but government is not bothered to even listen to the problem of local people.
Addressing the protesting people K D Singh Chairman Kandi Belt Movement said we are thankful to shopkeepers Association Bantalab & Yuva Rajput Sabha for supporting the team fighting for justice. He said Lawyers are also fighting for rights of poor people. He also said this area is a residential area and dumping of garbage is in violation of rules of pollution control Board .He also said that this dumping of garbage is illegal and against fundamental rights of public at large.
He warned administration that if dumping of garbage is not stopped it will be injustice with poor people. He further warned that if the demand is not met the stir would be intensified and government would be responsible for any untoward incident.
While addressing the protestors Surinder Singh Gilli assured the Kandi Belt Moment for their full support for just and legitimate demand for stoppage of illegal garbage dumping.
