Grameen Bank organizes Financial Literary Camps in unbanked villages

Jammu, Mar 17: J&K Grameen Bank organized two Financial Literacy Camps (Going Digital) in the remote unbanked villages Dhok Bhanyar and Channi Prat under the Branch Offices Bajabain and Channi Prat Block and Tehsil- Sunderbani District Rajouri on Saturday. Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department under the chairmanship of RK Chhibber in collaboration with NABARD organized two Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Progr-ammes in the remote unbanked villages Dhok Bhanyar and Channi Prat Tehsil-Sunderbani District-Rajouri under Branch Offices Bajabain & Channi Prat respectively. Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank was the chief guest on the occasion, welcome the participants and appraised them various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks. They were appraised about the use of ATM cards while going cashless. The participants were also appraised about the Social Security Schemes launched by the Govt. of India i.e. PMSBY, PMJJBY and Atal Pension Yojana for the welfare of the common man. He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, Use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc.
He explained the participants about the products, depost and to avail credit facilities in general like Housing Loan @8.35%, Transport Loan@9% and Car Loan@ 8.95%. He also stressed upon the schemes of small and big industrial loans and requested them to visit their branch without any hindrance for their all banking needs under one roof. People were educated about the Aadhar Seeding and Mobile seeding with their respective saving bank accounts which is need of the hour for the banking sector.
Sham Lal, Retired BDO & Principal, was the guest of honour on the occasion, appreciated the effort of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social schemes a big success.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Education and NRLM also attended the programme. At least 300 people were present in both programmes, besides the huge gathering Sarpanch and Panchs and other dignitaries of the villages were also present during the occasion.
