Poonch, Mar 20: Although government has transferred the Executive Engineer of Flood Control and Irrigation department Poonch to make the system of the department fair and transparent but nothing seems to have changed after the recent measures taken by the government.
The locals have alleged that all the Kul, embankments and protection works are same as they were during the flood in 2014 and department has released crores of rupees to some favourite contractors.
Sources informed that there are many irrigating Kul like Marnote to Dhara Kul, Khaneter Kul, Sathra Kul and many others which are still waiting for their restoration after flood 2014 and the concern department is is busy in maintaining of documents to release funds before 31 March. Locals have accused the executive engineer along with other officials of said department of embezzlement of funds. They have demanded for vigilance inquiry of the works done after flood 2014 and funds released. |
