Thathri, Mar 26: The people of Sub-Division Thathri have urged the state government to create ADC post in Sub-Division Thathri & later on up gradation to Sub-Division Thathri to the Status of District.
Erstwhile Thathri Tehsil, which is now a Sub-Division deserved to be a District on the basis of all those norms which were applied while Kishtwar and Ramban Tehsils were upgraded to the status of District. These were central places & each comprised of three Tehsils including Tehsil Kishtwar & Tehsil Ramban.
Sub-Division Thathri, (Erstwhile Thathri Tehsil) at present comprises of five Tehsils instead three-- Thathri, Phagsoo, Kahara, Chirala & Bhella. The Sub-Division Thathri having five Tehsils- two more than the existing norms but even than the Sub-Division Thathri is ignored by creating ADC post.
Moreover Thathri Sub-Division is a central place for all the other 4 Tehsils. Even if Erstwhile Tehsil Gandoh having now one more Tehsil Bhatyas (Sub-Division Gandoh) is included, Sub-DivisionThathri still remains the central place. The present confusing, immature & half hearted approach with political considerations demand that people of Thathri Sub-Division should also come on roads, the release said. They also demands separate Assembly Constituency & a separate tourism Authority for Sub-Division Thathri as it now comprises of 5 Tehsils and all the existing Districts & Assembly Constituencies in the state have hardly 2 or 3 Tehsils. |
