RFWU continue protest against Traffic police

Jammu, Mar 26: Rehdi-Fadi Workers Union-Jammu continued their protest on the sixth day against traffic police move to lift their Rehdi-Fadi.
The protest was held under the banner of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) at Press Club - Jammu. Addressing the protesting workers, Om Parkash, General Secretary of CITU condemned the continued move of traffic police- Jammu to forcibly removing Rehdis and Fadis, brutally beating the poor workers, destroying purchasable materials and snatching cash that rendering hundreds of these poor daily earners jobless.
He said that these poor workers are neither demanding employment nor promotion nor increment from the government but they are demanding to let them to continue their self-employed jobs. He urged upon the present dispensation to allow the poor workers to reinstall their Rehdi-Fadi at their existing place, pay compensation to the poor workers for the loss they suffered, and strict action against the persons responsible for unlawfully detention of poor workers. He also intimated the protesting workers that a memorandum of demands of Rehdi-Fadi workers is being served to the Chief Minister for their rehabilitation.
Sham Parsad Kesar Senior leader CITU in his address said that the government agency particularly the traffic police has created havoc by forcibly evicting Rehdi-Fadi of workers who belong to down trodden section of our society and depriving these poor vendors to feed their families. He said that a memorandum of demands of Rehdi-Fadi workers was handed over to Division Commissioner - Jammu on 14.03.2018 but still nothing done in this regard . He urged upon all workers to intensify their struggle till their demands are met. Citizens has the right to do his any self employed job to earn livelihood for his family, he said
Other spoke on this occasion Jagdish Sharma, Jia Lal parihar, Om Parkash, President Rehdi-Fadi Union demanded early restoration of their earning by allowing them to engage with their Rehdi-Fadis so that this marginalized section of the society is able to earn their livelihood and to live with dignified life.
