Early Times Report

Poonch, Mar 26: Castigating state government over 'Ailing' health sector of border district Poonch, National Conference today said that poor implementation of transfer orders and modifications made are taking toll over the system and all health institutions of the district are facing crisis like situation.
Jan, visited several areas of Poonch where he was appraised of poor state of affairs in health sector by locals while he also visited Mandi hospital and interacted with local people availing treatment from the hospital.
In his press statement, Jan said that transfers of doctors in most of the institutions of Poonch are not implemented properly which takes toll over the system..
" Most of the doctors donot even join their place of postings in Poonch after transfers are ordered by ministry and later get their orders modified which is the main loophole for the system " said Jan.
He also asked Chief Minister to personally intervene in the system and to scrutinise the vacancy position of doctors in the district which narrates 'Ailing' condition of health sector.
Mentioning few, Jan said that against around 70 posts of doctors in Poonch hospital, only 18 are working while 5 out of 23 posts of doctors in Mandi are lying vacant.
He also said that a CT Scan machine was installed in Poonch hospital by previous government but present government has failed to sanction staff and doctor to make it functional. "8 PHCs of the area including Mangnar and Bandichachi are without doctors which clearly shows government attention level towards health sector of Poonch " he added.
