| MC Rajouri Municipal fails SBM, spoils town's atmosphere | | | Sushil Dutta

RAJOURI, Mar 31:The much publicized Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM) has failed to make any impact in Rajouri thanks largely to the indifferent attitude of the town's Municipal Committee (MC).
Leave aside the cleanliness and maintaining proper hygiene as well as sanitation, the Municipal Committee with its casual approach is source unto itself of spreading pollution as it is responsible for burning of garbage on roads and markets.
Several locals informed Early Times that heaps of garbage lay scattered on roads but the MC Rajouri is not at all bothered to collect and dump the same at a secluded place. They said that several people are suffering from deceases like Dengue due to unhygienic condition of the town.
The locals lamented that they raised the issue several times matter before the authorities of MC, Rajouri, but all in vain. They appealed to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to take notice of the irresponsible behaviour of the MC Rajouri authorities. |
