PMU's soil expert visits Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Mar 31: Soil expert and member on Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), Prof. S.K. Rao of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) New Delhi, today visited the designated campus of the varsity here and held threadbare discussion with the senior functionaries regarding the project work and establishment of the university.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Dean School of Education and University Building Committee Member, Prof. N A Nadeem, Executive Engineer, Riyaz Ahmad Jeelani, General Manager, NBCC Zone, representatives of executing agencies and other functionaries of the university were also present on the occasion.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar and Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Jeelani, gave a detailed joint presentation about the construction of the phase-I buildings of Pre Engineered Buildings (PEBs) , cluster of single stories buildings, and other related activities. Prof. M Afzal Zargar, briefed the expert about various contours regarding the construction of the university at the designated campus.
Prof. Zargar further added that the university on the directions of the State Government has already starting shifting its activities to Ganderbal and some of the administrative units have already started functioning from the buildings allotted by the State government.
The expert took a first-hand account of the details of the soil test report and other related material. He also visited the site and suggested certain measures. The detailed report shall be shared by the expert to take future course of action on the ground.
