32 passengers injured in 2 separate road accidents in Uri

BARAMULLA, Apr 17: At least 32 passengers sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Uri area of Baramulla district today.
According to reports , a SRTC bus bearing registration number JK 01Y- 0421 was on its way from Gwalta to Uri met with an accident at Slamabad Uri resulting in injuries of several passengers.
Earlier the number of injured passengers was 26, of which 22 were shifted to SHD Uri and 4 referred to district hospital Baramulla for specialized treatment.
However, sources in the district hospital Baramulla said that they have received total 11 injured passengers of whom one was shifted to SKIMS Soura hospital for the advanced treatment.
The other injured passengers were admitted to Sub-District hospital, Uri.
Sources said that another accident happened in Shahdara Jabda-Kamalkote Uri in which a Tata Sumo bearing registration No: JKO5D-1716 met with an accident.
Three brothers were injured identified as Jahangir Ahmad, Zubair Ahmad and Pervaz Ahmad S/o Late Nayamtulla R/o Kundi Barjala of Uri area, all the injured were shifted to SDH Uri for treatment.
A group of locals from Uri telephoned early times saying the roads were dilapidated having caused many accidents in the past.
They said that Srinagar- Muzaffarabad road is being considered as one of the most important roads as it connects two Kashmiris together.
During election times the politicians assured construction and renovation of the hilly road but nothing materialized since then, locals added.
