Mehbooba Mufti is in dilemma
What to do next?
R.B. Suri4/23/2018 10:57:13 PM
The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti who is staring the Coalition Government these days since 2016 after the death her father Mufti Mohammed Sayed, is really in fix as to what to do next rather she is feeling helpless in satisfying the high expectations of the people of the Kashmir region specifically?
No doubt, she is maintaining the edge over her partner political party - BJP and ruling the state with courage and will but certainly not in the interests of the nation. But in these days, she is in fix as what to do next as she has failed to do some concrete over the issues as mentioned in the Agenda of Alliance (AOA) which was agreed to by its partner BJP before the oath ceremony of his father Mufti Mohammed Sayed as the Chief Minister of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in 2015.
Since BJP and PDP came into power in the state, Mehbooba Mufti is enjoying only the trust of the Prime Minister of the country Narender Modi and vice versa. Apart from him, she can't talk freely as the other stalwarts of BJP at the national level, according to her ,are meaningless and not trust worthy. At the national level, hectic political activities are going on these days and something is simmering below the soil as also the opposition political parties are raising their voices strongly over the works done by Modi government in the last four years or so - Demonetization of currency notes of rupees 500 and 1000 and the implementation GST through out the country et.etc.
Not only this, under the nose of the Modi government, the roles of the RBI Governor Urjit Patel and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India Dipak Mishra remained under a big question mark, rather biased as the same are supposed to be the Independent institutions, and as their roles have also damaged the creditability of these pious institutions to the large extent ? Both the institutions RBI / Apex Court were considered as the prestigious one. The entire opposition political parties are planning to bring a no confidence motion against Modi government under the banner of NDA .
Yadavs ( Lalu and and Akhlesh) of Bihar and UP, INC , NCP, TMC, DMK and AAP's Arvind Kejriwal are extra busy these days in making the permutations, combinations and manipulations of course in consolidating the efforts as also in motivating the people of the country in their support at the national level against Modi government. To give the befitting reply to them on this score , the Prime Minister of the country Narender Modi , is extra busy these days .
This is the only reason Prime Minister Narender Modi left Mehbooba Mufti at the mercy of god. She is in dilemma these days but keeping her cards close to the chest only and for using the same at the appropriate time. At the same time, it is pertinent to mention here that there exists infighting in both the parties to fetch the cabinet berths. The infighting in the organizational affairs of BJP and PDP is there with in their respective parties and outside also.
Feeling the pulse of the people, 2 sacked Cabinet ministers Ch. Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga are very much in the field these days and are motivating the people of Jammu, Samba and Kathua Districts and are trying their best to destabilize the present Coalition Government led by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti and whereas Dr. Haseeb Drabu is not in the limelight rather presently, he is outside the political scenario of the state. From the media reports, it has been learnt that Tasaduq Mufti, who is holding the charge of the Tourism ministry as the Cabinet Minister in ministry of her sister Mehbooba Mufti as the Chief Minister of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Right from the beginning he is not on the same page and always differ with his sister. Also once he spoke that there is no fun in running the government as he spoke about the non capability of the J&K Police and raised a question mark over the functioning and the performance of the crime branch which needs to be clarified by the Mehbooba Mufti herself.
PDP/BJP Ministers and their functionaries who stand appointed as the Chairmen and the Vice Chairmen of the various PSUs are very much busy in making the irregular appointments of their kith and kins in the state throwing all the norms and the prescribed procedures to wind thereby ignoring the meritorious youth of the state and owing to which they are being deceived and betrayed totally as also putting unnecessary financial burden over the already under RED PSUs operating in the state.
And on the other side, the Chief Minister Mufti Mehbooba is concentrating over the appeasement policy of the state for the surrendering militants with giving of hepty amounts at the cost of the Integrity and the sovereignty of the country.
It is also unfortunate that a large number of PSUs are working in the state as under red since so many years or so. 6-7 months back the government had appointed various senior functionaries of the BJP and PDP who were the defeated candidates in the last Assembly elections in the state as the Chairmen and the Vice Chairmen of some PSUs just to give them the lucrative benefits at the cost of the state .
It is also important to point out that Agenda of Alliance (AoA) is a base document over which the Coalition Government of BJP and PDP was formed in the state under the Chief Minister ship of Mufti Mohammed Sayed as the Chief minister in 2015. AoA remained as an obsolete document on papers only as no headway has been noticed over the under mentioned issues as yet .Removal of AFSPA, Return of NHPC Projects to the state , Rehabilitation of WP Refugees, Dialogue with PAK and Hurriyat group, Restoring of complete peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir valley etc.etc.It is also important to point out that Agenda of Alliance (AoA) is a base document over which the Coalition Government of BJP and PDP was formed in the state under the Chief Minister ship of Mufti Mohammed Sayed as the Chief minister in 2015. AoA remained as an obsolete document on papers only as no headway has been noticed over the under mentioned issues as yet . Cooperative Banks operating in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, which were already weak stand delicensed by RBI. They are working in the field very much but with the certain restrictions and bindings on them imposed by RBI / NABARD . No serious and concerted efforts have been made by the present Coalition Government in the state for their ultimate revitalization resulting which the farming community / non farming sector and the horticulture sector are facing numerous problems due to which the people dealing in these activities are facing a lot of problems and are suffering a lot to fetch their appropriate incomes during these days of high inflation due to the inaction of the State Government. These days , PM Modi is very much busy, apart from the routine matters, in making the new strategy to deal with the very recently developed matters regarding roles of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India Deepak Mishra and the Governor of RBI Urjit Patel just to counter the move made by the opposition political parties of the nation . In the past, during the intervening period since Independence in August 1947, such a grave situation was not developed in the country at all which actually caused the massive damage to the judicial system of the country as also in the economic affairs of the country due to the demonetization of the currency notes of rupees 500 and 1000 which is highly deplorable. Similar was the case of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India Deepak Mishra as is evident from the fact that the Justices working under him straightway chose the agitational path against him and had revolted against him openly and addressed the media against his working in the allotment of cases to them for hearing selectively. Actually it gave the big jolt to the Modi government at the centre. It was totally unfortunate on the history of the independent Judiciary of the country. Throughout, Mehbooba Mufti remained as the staunch supporter of the constructive dialogue with PAK over the issue of Kashmir which stands almost rejected by the Union Government as PAK does not deserve such a treatment at this stage when it is making the continuous ceasefire violations on the IB and LOC as well which a great headache for the GOI as also the Hurriyat group has not been cracked by the Interlocutor Daneshwar Sharma appointed by the Union Government as yet as it is hard nut to crack. Rassana rape and murder case of Kathua District is another factor over which the State Government is facing the lot of resentment of the people of the state and the country as well .While summing up of this article, I am to say that it is an issue of a person when he / she does not see the out gate in the darkness, he /she finds himself/ herself in fix as what to do next.
Exactly the same is the position of Mehbooba Mufti these days. She is in dilemma. At the same time , it has been learnt that all is not well in PDP as its ministers are not on the same page and they are allegedly maintaining the good repute with the leadership of the Hurriyat and the Separatists in the valley.
