PDC daily wagers protest, gherao MD's office
4/23/2018 11:15:12 PM
JAMMU, Apr 23: All J&K State Power Development Corporation (PDC) Daily Wagers' Union today held a protest and gheraod the office of Managing Director (MD) of the corporation. A large number of daily wagers from different power houses of the State Power Development Corporation participated in the protest and raised slogans against the administration of the corporation for allegedly playing the dilly-dally tactics with them on the issue of formal orders of their regularisation. The protesting employees said that they had utilized their golden years while serving in the Corporation at their risk and cost and even without availability of any property safety equipments, for the sake of the Corporation and the larger interest of the public. They said the finance department had already approved their regularization as per SRO 381 vice No UO A/141 (94) III-89 on November 13, 2017 and 5th meeting of Management and Finance Sub-Committee of JKSPDC has already approved the same in terms of SRO 381 but still the formal orders in this connection were yet to be issued.

Union president Ranjit Singh said there were more than 500 posts lying vacant in the department but the corporation was not regularising their services while the state PDD had regularized its 1800 daily wagers recently. Sources in the corporation claimed that the Board of Director meeting was scheduled for tomorrow and the case of regularization of daily wagers was also scheduled to be taken up.
