CGPWA holds General Body Meeting

Jammu, Apr 23: The 23rd Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) of Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association (CGPWA) J&K Jammu was held here at Jammu Club Jammu today.
The AGBM was co-chaired by its Patron V.P.Sharma GSI and President S S Wazir, nearly 105 CGPWA members attended the AGM; including a representative team from Srinagar chapter. About a dozen prominent social activists associated with noted NGSs were special invitees in the vibrant function.
J K Vaid, General Secretary of the Association conducted the proceedings and presented the Annual General Report for the year 2017-2018. He also briefed the house on the latest Govt. orders for the welfare of pensioners, including operation of Pensioners' Portal for on-line redress of the pensioners' grievances on Centralized Pension Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS). Many long pending pension cases have been resolved through this system, including a number of cases of non-member pensioners and family pensioners of the State.
CGPWA J&K, representing 34 central services as on date, has been notified by Govt. of India as Nodal Association for central pensioners of J&K State and is one of the 47 Central Govt. Pensioners' Associations in the country to get such identification for operating Pensioners' Portal under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).
S. S. Wazir, President in his address greeted the members and special invitees and briefly touched upon the welfare activities being pursued by the Association in service of the civil society, in general and the pensioners and their families, in particular. K B Jandial, Former Member PSC J&K and a well-known columnist, delivered an informative talk on a live issue of the day: 'Appointment and Impeachment of Judges in India'. The audience evinced keen interest in the topic and there was a brief interaction in clarification of doubts.
Pensioners' Journal 2018 of the Association was released by the Patron, President and other Office Bearers and copies of the Journal distributed to all those present. The function culminated with vote of thanks by B K Raina GSI, Vice President of CGPWA.
