Hiranagar emerges champion of football

Kathua, May 25: Zone Hiranagar Emerged champion of football during ongoing inter zone tournament organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of District Youth Service and Sports officer Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj here at sports Stadium Kathua.
Today, the competitions of football for under 14 and 17 years girls were organised at Sports Stadium Kathua and at police line the competitions of tennis ball Cricket for under 17 boys were held which were declared open by Chief Medical Officer Kathua Ashok Choudhary in the presence of DYSSO Sh. Subash Chander Bhardwaj.
Meanwhile, zone Billawar lifted the trophy of under 17 Tennis Ball Cricket by defeating zone Hiranagar in final match. A total of 164 players of district participated in today's events. In final of under 17 football girls competitions, zone Hiranagar defeated the host is Kathua by 4-0 goals. Earlier, zone Hiranagar and Kathua outplayed zone Billawar and zone Basohli by 1-0, 1-0 goals.
In under 14 years girls Football, Hiranagar defeated Billawar by 2-0 goals in final. Earlier Hiranagar and Billawar outplayed their respective opponent teams Basohli and Kathua by 2-0 goals. In under 17 tennis ball Cricket, the boys of Billawar defeated Hiranagar 1 run in final.
Batting first, Billawar made 67 runs in prescribed 12 overs. Gaurav of Billawar added 32 runs in 22 balls whereas Abhishek of Hiranagar clinched four wickets in 2 overs by giving only 2 runs. Chasing the target Hiranagar reached at 66 runs in 9.3 hours however Mohit Badgyal of Billawar stumped out Amit Khajuria of Hiranagar in next ball. Hence Hiranagar lost the match by 1 run. Under 14 winner and runner up Players posing photograph with CMO Ashok Choudhary, DYSSO Subash Chander Bhardwaj and officials.
