BANDIPORA, May 25: Thousands of people participated in the funeral procession of Mohammad Yaqoob, by profession a butcher who was killed by some unidentified persons with a sharp edged weapon at his hometown Hajin. Police on Friday recovered throat slit body of a man in Hajin area of Bandipora district.
Incharge Station House Officer Hajin Ghulam Nabi while talking to early times said , some three to four unknown gunmen barged inside the house of Mohammad Yaqoob Wagay S/O Ghulam Mohammad Wagay and abducted him at Gunda Preng village in Hajin.
The I/C SHO said that the family members immediately informed the concerned police station about the incident that subsequently reached the spot and recovered the throat slit body of Mohammad Yaqoob Wagay, who was a mutton dealer in the nearby area.
After legal medico formalities including postmortem the body of the deceased was handed over to the family members for last rites, adding a case has been registered and further investigations initiated, the officer added.
However a relative of Wagay quoting the wife of deceased said some masked gunmen entered into their house at around 12:00-12:30 am in the midnight. The deceased is survived by two children and the wife. "His wife and seven year old son was present at home when this incident took place, while as the two brothers of the deceased are residing at a distance of half a kilometer from their house.
Eyewitness informed Early Times that women wailed when the throat slit body of Mohammad Yaqoob reached his home.
Meanwhile police issued a statement that, Mohd Yaqoob Wagay son of Ghulam Mohd Wagay was brutally killed by the terrorists nearby his home at Gunda Preng village in Hajin area of Bandipora District. Investigation indicates complicity of banned LeT outfit involving Saleem Parrey a local LeT militant involved in this killing. Pertinently last week also a youth Hilal Ahmad Parrey hailing from Hajin was abducted and later killed closer to his home. His body with hands tied at back was recovered from a nursery nearby.
