Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 30: Militants carried out two grenade attacks on security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A National Conference leader was a target in one of the attacks, but there was no loss of life or damage to property.
"Two grenade attacks one at Pulwama and one at Tral. No loss of life and property. Police on Job. @JmuKmrPolice," Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
A police official of Tral said a blast took place near the residence of National Conference leader Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, who is the son of a former legislator late Mohammad Subhan Bhat.
"Ashraf was at his home when the blast took place. It is not clear whether the sound was due to a grenade blast or some other thing. However, there was no loss of life and property," he said.
On Tuesday, militants shot and injured a special police officer in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, whose leg was amputated at a hospital.
On Sunday night, militants attacked an army camp of 50 Rashtriya Rifles at Kakapora in Pulwama district in which a soldier was killed.
Earlier this month, the central government announced halting of operations against militants during Ramzan which started on May 17.
