JAMMU, June 9: As a part of World Environment week 2018, the Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing, Jammu today organized nature tour for students of SOS Home to Environment Park, Bhawani Nagar.
The objective of the tour was to sensitize the young generation about Environment, nature conservation and importance of celebration of World Environment Day with particular reference on the theme of the year "Beat Plastic Pollution".
On the occasion, the Students took part in Green March, Symposium, Poem & song recitation etc on plastic pollution.
The DFO Environment in his detailed address highlighted the importance of Forest and its rule in environment conservation. He appealed the young generation to act as ambassadors to reduce plastic pollution particularly- its single use.
The Range officers & Mass Media Incharge also addressed the gathering. Prizes were also distributed among the student participants. The department also distributed eco friendly Jute/carry bags, resource material and light refreshment among the participants. |
