Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 9: Acting on Early Times reports about alleged misdeeds of District Forest Officer (DFO) Rajouri who had made the entire Social Forestry Department his personnel domain, the government has attached him.
The DFO, Baghwan Singh Salathia, was allegedly involved in corruption, with many people complaining against him to the higher authorities. The regional director of IFS cadre to whom the list of corrupt deeds of the DFO were sent took a final decision and ordered his immediate transfer and posting to Chief Conservator's office.
The attachment and posting orders of Bhagwan Singh were released by Commissioner Secretary Forest, Saurab Bhagat, under government order no. 100 Fst 2018 dated 7/6/2018.
Nadeem Iqbal Mirza has taken over as the new DFO Rajouri. The entire region is looking forward to some sweeping changes in the department so that the strong network of corrupt officials built by Bhagwan Singh Salathia could be broken.
The people of the area, expressing their gratitude to the Regional Director IFS who removed the corrupt DFO, also hoped that further good steps will be taken to undo the wrongs done in the past.
