Udhampur, June 25: The JK Private Schools' Association (JKPSA) organized a three days workshop for private schools. According to press release, the workshop was organized under the chairmanship of Kamal Gupta. General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta briefed the agenda to the participants which included hefty revised inspection fee by JKBOSE without consulting stakeholders or representatives of the schools, unreasonable pressure of fee fixation committee and District administration on self-financed Private schools ,dissimilar conditions and criteria by the DSE Jammu & DSE Kashmir while granting permission / recognition up to class 8th in the same State i.e. J & K , impact of Condition for the compliance of SRO-290 dated 06/09/16 while granting permission / recognition up to class 8th by the DSE Jammu etc. More than 100 members who were present in the meeting expressed their anguish towards the atrocities of the state government. While speaking they briefed that state government has imposed all type of levies and taxes on the self-financed low budget private schools. It has become difficult for them to earn two times meal & this unrealistic and hostile attitude of the state government has discouraged the volunteers who are promoting education even in militancy dominated areas, they added. President JKJCCPS Kashmir Chapter Showkat Chowdhary said that organization will fight with tooth and nail to protect all small and major establishments which are rendering yeomen services in the state by negotiations and protests. President of the J&K PSA Kamal Gupta demanded instead of beating about the bush education department should come out with clear cut policy to give solid support to the Private Schools which are being run by the self-employed volunteers in urban, semi urban, rural and in far flung areas of the state & sharing about 60% burden of the government.
