Both parties wash dirty linen in public, blame each other for failures
'Corruption, nepotism thrived during PDP-BJP regime'

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 25: Peoples Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janata Party washing their dirty linen in the public has brought to fore how the coalition functioned during the past three years.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "The leaders and ministers of both the parties had their own agendas. They did not follow the people's agenda. It's a known fact that how the nepotism and corruption thrived during the erstwhile regime."
He said, "The transfer industry got the boast during the PDP-BJP regime as Ministers of both the parties were seen busty in accommodating their blue-eyed boys at the plum positions."
He said, "Most ministers both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir had become inaccessible and used to even avoid their own people and workers. They had lost connection with the ground and were busy reaping the fruits of power."
A Kashmir watcher said that since the day the government has fallen both the parties are shifting the blame on each other. "BJP is saying that PDP ministers did not live upto the expectations, on the other hand PDP is claiming that BJP ministers did not perform," he added.
He said that the overall functioning of the coalition government was below par. "The PDP just kept on raising the issues which did not fall in its domain. It forgot Bijli, Pani and Sadak and raked up the issues which had nothing to do with the governance. Despite Kashmir witnessing unrest for nearly six months PDP went ahead and announced amnesty for more than 10,000 stone-pelters. The politicians kept on interfering in the security related matters. The PDP also doubled the incentive for the militants to surrender and hiked it to Rs 6 lakhs. Many terrorists who were involved in the killing of soldiers and other incidents were lured by the offer and were provided incentives for bleeding the country," he added.
A politician said, "BJP during all these three and a half years remained silent and allowed everything to happen under its nose. After pulling out from the government BJP leaders are talking about safeguarding the national interests and about the India first. Someone needs to ask these leaders why didn't they talk about the national interests when they were in power? And why did they act as mute spectators?"
He said, "PDP and BJP have to answer many questions and shifting the blame on each other won't help their cause."
