Pakistan nurses anti-India itch for 71 years
6/25/2018 11:04:27 PM
For over 71 years Pakistan has been nursing anti-India itch which is seen manifested in various anti-India instances. The itch is voiced either through ceasefire violations on the LoC or on the IB, or helping militants to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir who are given diplomatic, moral and material support or by supporting insurgency in Kashmir or by raking up the Kashmir issue at the international fora. And again the anti-India itch has been manifested through the denial of permission to the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria to visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Lahore. Reports reaching New Delhi have revealed that Ajay Bisaria has been denied entry into Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Lahore for the second time in three months, despite having an official permit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. Nearly 300 Sikh pilgrims from India are visiting Lahore to observe the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at Gurdwara Dera Sahib.
The Indian High Commissioner was to meet the Sikh jattha as part of his consular duties but was denied entry into the gurdwara by security personnel. And if India lodged a protest against the attitude of Islamabad the protest was a genuine one and that too on reasons best known to the seekers of insurgency in Punjab and now in Jammu and Kashmir. .India summoned the Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi to lodge a protest. "Indian organisers, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), when contacted, expressed concern and dismay at the incident. The visiting pilgrims had asked Pakistan organisers to facilitate a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner and High Commission officials," said the Ministry of External Affairs, calling it a violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and 1974 bilateral Protocol on visit to religious shrines. Pakistan has developed love for violating basic norms and hence harbours anti-India itch.
This anti-India itch has found expression in Pakistan waging four wars against India. Though India has emerged victorious but Pakistan has now learnt the art of supporting terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir after its experiment of infiltrating its troops in civies in 1965 had failed. In fact this itch against India has encouraged Pakistani agencies, including its troops, to provide material and diplomatic support to separatists who have been clamouring for the settlement of the Kashmir issue through the implementation of the UN resolutions. And these very separatists have providing moral support to militants operating in the Kashmir valley. Now this anti-India itch has spread to Afghanistan which is supposed to be friendly towards India and banks on the Indian financial aid for its reconstruction of war damaged infrastructure.
