Poonch, June 25: Office of Block Development officer has released excess payment against MGNREGA works. People said the office had become a den of corruption.
Irfan Ahmed incharge NREGA works of Panchayats lower Mankote and upper Mankote revealed that he received excess payment against his bills as VLW and Technical Assistants were hand in glove in an unholy nexus where old works which were done already are also calculated with new works. "I was surprised to find that I was paid much more than the bills of works submitted for payment," he said.
Lambasting at Sourab Khan Village level worker(VLW) and Chiragdin Technical Assistant for taking the NREGA workers for a ride for one purpose or the other he said, that he has also filed a RTI in this regard Irfan added.
A report from Balnoi Panchayat also said that excess payment of the bills has been made alleged by Mohd Yousaf who is in charge of MGNREGA works in the area. He said there was a nexus between VLW and Technical assistant who rules the roost while GRS is asked to make only files of the payment he added
Since the mal practices are going under the very nose of Block Development Oficer Mankote an appeal has been made to district authorities to take serious note of the development and initiate an enquiry accordingly. |
