KP community rejects UNHRC reports
6/26/2018 10:38:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 26: Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community rejected the partisan and biased report of UNHRC issued on 14th June, 2018. The report is neither based on facts, nor does it reflect the realities existing on ground in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Commission has, over the years, completely overlooked the biggest Human Rights violation of nearly half a million Kashmiri Hindus, whose history in Kashmir dates back to 5000 years. In 1989-90, this microscopic minority, along with many non-Muslims living in Kashmir, was cleansed out of Kashmir after they were subjected to ruthless violence by armed hordes sponsored by Pakistan. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits were killed and their women raped by Jihadis; armed, trained, financed and supported by Pakistan, before they fled from the Valley, leaving everything behind. Ever since, this microscopic minority has not been able to return to their homes due to the ongoing proxy war launched by Pakistan against India in Kashmir. Overnight Kashmiri Pandits were turned into refugees in their own country and continue to be so, even nearly three decades after their genocide in Kashmir. United Nations Human Rights Commission, over the last thirty years, turned a blind eye to their plight. The instant report does not only suffer from the same lacuna, but in addition, by mildly admonishing Pakistan, it has let the latter go off the hook, while appearing to be fair.
