Influential Jr Pharmacist staying at SDH Taryath since 2000
Uses official stamp illegally to issue fitness certificate

Jammu, June 26: In absence of doctors at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Taryath, a Junior Pharmacist using illegally Zonal Medical Officer stamp, issues medical fitness certificates. Moreover, the Pharmacist violates transfer policy and has managed his posting in same health institution for the last 18 years.
Sources in health department informed Early Times that SDH Taryath situated in rural area of district Rajouri. The higher officials of department do not pay attention to posted doctors here.
"The influential Jr Pharmacist claims that he is a senior doctor and head of the hospital. He prescribes medicines to patients, charges Rs 200 for issuing medical fitness certificatse to seekers which is totally illegall", sources alleged.
Sources further said, "Nearby three lakh souls of Taryath and adjoining areas are dependent on the hospital. Such health institution is a referral centre for number of Primary Health Centres and dispensaries of the adjoining areas". Rajinder Sharma, a local said that in papers government has upgraded the hospital years ago but interestingly till date no doctor has been posted here. The new building of SDH Taryath was completed previous year and handover to health department but the post of doctor as well as Paramedical staff was not sanctioned.
Now the hospital has operation theatres but till date not a single minor operation has been conducted here. Critical as well as normal patient were also referred to district hospital Rajouri from here because of non- availibility of doctors.
The staff appointed here are two pharmacists, a Junior staff nurse, Six female multipurpose workers, a nursing orderly and a lab technician and one operation theatre Technician.
A NRHM doctor posted here was harassed by influential Jr Pharmacist. He got himself transferred.
