POONCH, June 26: Provincial Youth National Conference President and former MLA Ajaz Jan on Tuesday expressed grave concern over defunct water supply schemes and tube-wells in the forward areas of Salotri, Jhulas and Khari Karmara in Poonch Assembly Constituency, saying a crisis like situation has arose due to scarcity of drinking water supply.
During his extensive tour of these areas, Mr Jan took stock of various utility services and listened to the problems of the people and assured them that these would be taken up with all the concerned for earnest redressal.
He said the shortage of drinking water and frequent cuts in the power supply has put the life of the people in misery, especially during the ongoing summer months.
"The Governor's Administration should do course correction and plug loopholes in the system that was paralysed for over three years due to misgovernance of the PDP and the BJP", he said and urged the concerned departments to have these services in place on priority. He also sought immediate repairs to the damaged transformers and carving out a transformer bank to meet the exigencies. Ajaz Jan also referred to the shortage of rations on the PDS sale outlets and asked the government to ensure that rations are kept in adequate quantity so that rationees do not supply. |
