Jammu, June 27: Environment Awareness Forum (EAF) has castigated the Pollution Control Board authorities for their alleged ignorance of violations of environmental norms.
According to press release, EAF president Bhushan Lal Parimoo appealed to the Governor to have some measures initiated so as to shake up J&K State Pollution Board to come out of its deep slumber.
"It is sleeping over the matters ensure Clean environment Air and Pollution free Water more than Rip Van winkle whose record has been only 20 years. Recent on spot inspection of the Fruit and vegetable Mandi, Narwal opposite J&K State Pollution Control Board Jammu Tawi, the main Mandi in Jammu Division almost catering entire needs of the Jammu province beside a transit point for the valley or from there for onward transition", he alleged. EAF and Disha want responsibility to be fixed and action taken against the defaulters with immediate effect. |
