Early Times Report

Jammu, June 27: The Forum of Junior Engineers with engineers of different wings of Electrical, Civil, Mechanical today held a meeting in Power Development Department, Gladni Guest House Narwal Jammu in the chairmanship of Er.Sachin Tickoo ,Convenor of the body on the various burning issues of Junior Engineers. The members exhorted that Junior Engineers have continuously been given step motherly treatment over the years and there is inertia on the issues projected by the forum from time to time. Er.Sachin Tickoo, spoke that the Grade recommended by the Pay anomaly committee in 2009 was 5700-10100 which corresponded to 9300-34800, GP 4260 after the issuance of SRO 42 dated 02nd Feb 2011.However the Finance department, didn't issue clarification since last eight years and left us to the mercy of 9300-34800 Grade pay 4200.We have repeatedly represented before the Finance department through all the authorities to issue necessary orders in this regard but no heed has been paid to the genuine demand. Speaking on the occasion, Er Ankush Sharma said Field Travel allowance being paid is paltry rupees 30 for the whole month. It is astonishing that Junior engineer has to manage all the works in the field 24X7, but he is not paid a respectable field travelling allowance. The Finance department is urged to issue orders of revision of Field travelling Allowance to a minimum of Rs 3000 in favour of Junior Engineers. Junior Engineers seek Assured career progression scheme on the analogy of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and other central government undertakings.
