Early Times Report

Verinag (Anantnag), July 5: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Thursday claimed that New Delhi could use national investigative agencies against the People's Democratic Party.
"We didn't know what they (PDP) did during these three years, but in coming days you will come to hear about CBI and NIA raids. All under carpet scams will surface now," Mir said while addressing party workers in Verinag area.
He said that Congress has never resorted to vindictive politics but the party which PDP joined for forming government in Jammu and Kashmir three years ago "can use national agencies against them."
"They (BJP) yesterday give hints about it (raids)," Mir said. He said that eroding the institutions and resorting to loot and corruption was the sole agenda of PDP.
He asked his workers not to give heed to rumours regarding government formation and insisted them to work for the upcoming elections.
"Congress has made stringent anti-defection law, so there is no scope for any combination. Don't heed to rumours and work for the upcoming elections as Jammu and Kashmir is set to witness general elections and prior to that elections for Panchayat and Urban Local bodies will also be held in the state," he added.
Mir said that all the political parties and government organizations had to play a role in getting the situation in the state particularly in Kashmir improved.
"We have told the Governor that Congress party wants resumption of political process," he said.
While talking to media, Mir said that people across state are feeling relieved over the fall of PDP-BJP government. "From people's response it is that evident that they are feeling relived after the fall of this (PDP-BJP) government as it resorted to oppression and suppression only," he said.
