Kishtwar, Aug 6: As a part of World breastfeeding week, CDPO Kishtwar Iffat Ara organized an awareness programme on Breastfeeding at the far flung Seergwari in Thakrie area of Kishtwar. All the supervisors along with Health & Nutrition Mobilizer participated in the programme.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of a large number of women, AWC's & AWH's of the area.
The major objective of the programme was to create awareness on protection, promotion and support the breastfeeding among the women so to improve tge health of babies.
Supervisor Satya Devi gave a detailed view that how breastfeeding improves the nutritional status of infants, protecting them from infections and making their immune system strong.
Further, Health and Nutrition Mobilizer Mohsin Nisar Doolwal also educated the women on initiation of breastfeeding, physiology of lactation, bonding between Mother and baby and nutritional value of Breast milk.
Further he also gave the information about the deworming day celebration and the ladies were made aware about hygiene proper way of hand washing practices, so as to avoid the parasitic infections in childrens. |
