Shocker: School students raise pro-azadi slogans at Mendhar
Parents demand action against school authorities, naib tehsildar

Mendhar, Aug 6: In a shocking incident which has put a question mark on the education system, students of Government Higher Secondary school Bhata Dhurian in Balakote area of Mendhar sub division raised pro-freedom slogans like, "hum kaya chahte hain...azaadi [we want freedom] in front of naib tehsildar and school principal on Monday.
Blaming school authorities and the naib tehsildar the parents of the students said that it is not fair that our children are being taught anti-India indoctrination. They said that our children should learn what patriotism is all about. They urged the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch to take notice of this sensitive matter and order a probe.
When contacted, SDM Mendhar Dr Tanvir Ahmed Khan assured that proper action would be taken against the people who are trying to "indoctrinate" the students.
Meanwhile SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey said that FIR will be lodged and a stern action will be taken against the accused.
