| RDD makes mockery of RTI Act | | |  Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 6: Rural Development Department (RDD) has made mockery of the RTI Act by furnishing misleading information to an RTI applicant.
In this regard an application (Form-A) filed by one Sachin Sasan son of Shadi Lal resident of village Muradpur Tehsil and District Rajouri on 11/6/2018 regarding the construction of a Pulli at village Muradpur constructed by the local before the PIO (Public Information Officer) i.e Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri. The PIO Rural Development Department Rajouri has furnished the misleading information vide no. 661 dated 26/6/2018 to the applicant. The information has furnished on the photo stat copy of the application of the applicant indicating the answer/reply on the front of every question with red pen marked which is the clear-cut violation of Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act 2009.
It is very astonished to read that PIO has asked the applicant to contact the concerned JE for reply of last question of his application/information which shows that how the concerned PIO diluted the public friendly legislation i. e J and K RTI Act 2009. Under the RTI Act PIO is answerable for time bound/ correct information to the applicants on the prescribed format under RTI Act. The tall claims of the government that every citizen has right to get information has exposed. The applicant appealed to Governor of J and K to investigate the matter and make it sure that RTI Act be implement in its true spirit. |
