JAMMU, Aug 17: The Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Tehreek-e-Insaaf President Choudhary Nazakat Khatana has criticized the alleged dilly delaying tactics of police to recover body of a rape victim of Talwara.
The victim, a 19-year-old lady was allegedly abducted and raped by two men during 24-25 July 2018 at village Talwara of District Reasi. Although the suspects have been arrested and they revealed that they had thrown her in nearby river after rape. This is a third incident of rape in Jammu region where only Muslim girls are targeted and victimized.
"I demand the recovery of the dead body of the said victim within a period of 5 days i.e. till 20 August 2018, if the body is not recovered; we will protest with huge crowd against the police force and will come on roads. I appeal the higher police authorities especially IG Jammu to take strict action against the rapists and also punish them for this shameful act", he said.
He further said that investigation be done in the case of Murfad Shah's pre-planned murder held at the Jammu residence of the NC president last week. An FIR be lodged against the murders. He also added that the killing of cattle merchant in Gool Gulabgrah, be also investigated and justice be provide to the bereaved families.
