Jammu, Oct 9: Banyan International School, in association with SPIC MACAY, J&K, organized 'Fall Retreat' on 9th October 2018 in the school premises, providing every child to experience the inspiration and mysticism embodied in Indian and World heritage. The event was graced by the presence of renowned musical maestros Kalapini Komkali, Shambunath Bhattacharya and Chetan Nigam with dignitaries of SPIC MACAY, J&K, Sapna K Sangra, State Chairperson, Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator and Pooja Mahajan and Miho Mahajan, members of this Banyan International School Management. The students were spellbound by the melodious notes of Kalapini Komkali, recipient of fellowship from Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India and Kumar Gandharva award by Pujari Pratishthan of Pune. The event provided a great opportunity to young Banyanites to hear, see and interact with maestros and understand the art form. SPIC MACAY (Society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture Amongst Youth) is a recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award. It was founded in 1977 with an aim to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of the Indian Heritage. The musical extravaganza which started from Oct 8 will continue to enthral the audience till Oct 13 in various educational institutions of Jammu. |
