| Forest Deptt seizes goods, machinery of Bharat Priye Katha Products | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 9: Upon suspension of licence by the licensing authority, the Forest Department seized finished /semi-finished products, equipments/ machinery including saw mill from the premises of M/S Bharat Priye Katha Products Sandhwan, Tehsil Marh, Jammu.
A team of Jammu Forest Division led by Manoj Puri, Range Officer Jammu carried out the whole operation under the supervision of senior Forest Officers.
The Forest Offence Report (FOR) has been registered against owners of the said Katha Unit holder for violation of SRO 103 / SRO 111 & under various sections of J&K Forest Act. The Range Officer Jammu has also filed the cases before the Authorized Officer/DFO Jammu for initiating of confiscation proceeding under Section 26 of J&K Forest Act.
Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu mentioned that raid on the factory premises namely M/S Bharat Priye Katha Products, Sandhwan has conducted by the forest field staff of Jammu Forest Division after the suspension of licence by the licensing authority (CF East Circle, Jammu), It is pertinent to mention that a truck loaded with liquor Katha was seized by the staff of Lakhanpur Anti polythene Check Post led by the Range Officer. A case for the violation of section 15 and 16 of J&K Forest Act of 1987 (1930 AD) in the Court of Authorized Officer -Kathua was registered. |
