Thief held, 5 stolen mobile phones recovered

Katra, Oct 13: Police today claimed to have arrested a thief and recovered 5 stolen mobile phones from his possession. Police spokesman said that today one yatri namely Rishu Kumar son of Rajveer Singh of Nuran, Kheras, Sonipat Haryana lodged a written report at Bhawan police station that he alongwith friends had come to Bhawan for darshan, and while taking bath at bathing ghat, Bhawan he kept 5 mobile phones (including his friend's mobile phone) in his bag and went along them to take bath.
He further stated in his complaint that when he returned back he found all the 5 mobile phones having market value of Rs. 40500 stolen by a thief who had fled. Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR No. 10/2018 under section 379 of RPC was registered at Bhawan police station and investigation started. "During the course of investigation, a special naka was laid by Inspector Arun Singh-SHO Bhawan along with his team near Manokamna Bhawan and apprehended a suspect namely Santosh Lodhi of Madhya Pradesh (MP) and was put under sustained interrogation', said spokesman adding that during interrogation he confessed that he had stolen 5 mobiles from the bathing ghat and hidden them in a locker Near Gate No 3. Investigation Officer (IO) of the case recovered all the 5 stolen mobiles on the confession of accused in the presence of the complainant of the case who identified the mobile phones, said spokesman. Spokesman further added that the mobile phones were handed over to the owners and further investigation of case is going on. The case was cracked under the overall supervision of Nisha Nathyal-SSP Reasi.
