LNMT organizes Rangoli competition

Jammu, Oct 13: As part of Navratra festival, the Lakshmi Narayan Management Trust, Gandhinagar organised Rangoli competition in temple premises this morning.
Over 150 students from 14 schools participated in the contest. It was a riot of colour at the foreyard of the temple with different colours that mark the Navratras, adding to the religious splendor of Lakshmi Narayan temple.
While most of the school students picked up religious theme for Rangoli like Goddess Durga, Lord Ganesh, some depicted arrangement of nine colours representing nine goddesses, associated with holy navratras.
The team of Govt Girls High School, Gandhinagar who made Goddess Durga with peacock won the first prize while the second prize went to the students of Shastri Shiksha Kendra for their Rangoli of Lord Ganesh and the third prize to the team of S. D. Tarapuri school who too made a impressive colourful image of Mata.
A panel of three judges comprising Secretary of the Trust, S. C. Rekhi, Treasurer Deepak Gupta, and Trustee K. B. Jandial, adjudged the awards.
