JSS organizes musical programme
10/13/2018 10:43:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 13: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu organized a musical programme in collaboration of SPICMAY school's premises.
Fall retreat with Kalapini Komkali-an acclaimed vocalist from Dewas, Central India with Shambhunath Bhattachachrya-the Tabla instrumentalist and Chetan Nigam- the Harmonium instrumentalist mesmerized the entire school premises with their aura and the music they brought off in front of us.
The programme began with the welcome address and lightening of the lamp to invoke blessings from lord. Afterwards our Sanskritians presented a symphony which left everybody in stupefaction. The entire performance of the artists was prodigious as Kalapini Komkali's musical lineage is most manifest in the emphasis laid on the rendition of the bandish (composition), its bhava (meaning) and what not. The guest of honour for the event was Kanta Andotra ex M.L.A Basoli and Choudhary Lal Singh M.L.A Basoli who complimented the school and SPICMAY for organizing such events which helps children to imbibe the values embedded in Indian Classical music and Culture. All the artists and guest of honour was felicitated with mementos and trophies.
The entire programme was held in presence of Sapna Sangra (State Chairperson), Seema Rohemetra (Coordinator Jammu Chapter), Chairperson, Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, Harpreet Anand and members from managing committee Kanwaljeet Kaur, Sonakshi Anand and Harleen Anand.
The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks conveyed by senior wing coordinator Avneet Kour who paid gratitude to Kalapini Komakali and team for their visit to our school and performing remarkably which enthralled our youth. Our Principal cum Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima expressed her best wishes to the team and asserted that one should be ingrained to one's culture and music.
Music represents the culture and tradition, but with different music forms we have forgotten the real purpose of music which is the glory of God and rejuvenation of soul. Such classical events inspires youth through experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich and heterogeneous culture tapestry of Indian heritage.
