| Independent candidate joins NC | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Oct 22: After hectic efforts and lobbying since last over 48 hours, the National Conference in Kishtwar District manage to win one Independent candidate Zahid Hussain Sheikh who win the Municipality elections from Ward No. 3 of Kishtwar by beating the NC backed Independent candidate Ather Hussain by 24 votes.
As per the details available with Early Times, NC District President NC Kishtwar Tanveer Ahmad Kichloo reach out to Independent candidate and requested him to join the party and strengthen the secular febric in Kishtwar District, beside he was also approach by the PDP.
After both the parties approach him, Zahid Sheikh held a detailed meeting and discussion with the people who voted in his favour as well as from the Mohalla, he decided to join the National Conference.
With the joining of Zahid Sheikh, NC tally increased to six in Kishtwar town elections while another candidate who win the election on NC backing from Ward No 8 of Kishtwar Municipality has turn hostile and has yet to join either camp. However he is said to be close to PDP lobby, but has seek support of NC on oath as party has majority of vote chunk in ward No. 8. If Ward. No 8 candidate shed it's regidity, the NC will easily sail thtothr towards simple majority in 13 ward Kishtwar Municipality. The joining ceremony took place in presence of District President NC Kishtwar Tanveer Ahmad Kichloo who welcome the Zahid Sheikh, an independent candidate who was once a Zonal President of PDP and later set a part after emerging of some differences with senior party leaders. |
