| Drug peddler held with 4 gram heroin | | |

Jammu, Oct 21: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani' launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu- Vivek Gupta against the drugs and its peddling , today Sarwal police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 4 grams heroin from his possession.
Police identified the arrested drug peddler as Riyaz Ahmed of Sector no. 1 Janipur.
Police said that acting on information, party led by SI Purab Singh-incharge police post Sarwal under the supervision of Inspector Naresh Sharma raised a naka at Sarwal and intercepted a pedestrian. "During search police recovered 4 grams of heroin from his possession", said spokesman adding that he has been arrested while the consignment has been seized.
Police spokesman further said that a case in this connection has been registered and further investigation is on to ascertain the source of the drugs and other associates of the peddler. |
