Institutional ethics meeting held at GMC Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 22: Institutional Ethics Committee organized Institutional Ethics meeting held in the premises of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu in which 189 research proposals were discussed out of which 121 were thesis proposals and 68 research proposals were under independent research proposals. Provisional approvals subject to all necessary modifications and recommendations was granted. Increasing trend towards clinical research is welcome sign for the institution. Dr Sunanda Raina Principal/ Dean Govt medical college while expressing satisfaction addressed the academic meeting and said that she has already taken up the matter with university regarding early allotment of research proposal in first 6 month of joining institution. Dr Kuldeep Sharma Chairman IEC said that beside granting approval to studies following all principals of bioethics this foraum should be used as a teaching learning fouram in research. Dr Vijay Khajuria member secretary IEC presented the status and work done report of IEC. Dr Vishal Tandon moderated the said meeting and told that IEC GMC Jammu has been granted registration by DCGI Govt of India. Beside chairman, member secretary and esteemed members of IEC Prof Ganshyam Dev HOD Radiodignosis, Dr Annil Mahajan HoD Medicine, Dr Nasib Digra HOD Surgery, HODs of various department and various faculty members, Registrars demonstrators and residents were present in the said meeting.
